Special days, that only count as a half day holiday
Christmas and New Years only count as half a work/holiday?
You can configure these special days as follows:
- Click absences and then special days
- By clicking the blue button in the top left corner, you can create a new special day
- Existing entries can be amended by clicking on the setting icon on the right hand side
- Under timeframe you have the option to de-select the option "all day". Now you can proceed to select a timeframe for the absence e.g 12:01pm - 23:59pm
- Note: the 1 Minute difference is important to ensure that there is no overlap. Below this you have the option to de-select the option to allow absence requests. Managers will then get a notification, that they have to amend the absences on those days accordingly.
- The duration will be automatically calculated, but can be amended. For our example above, this would be 0.5 (of the day).
Absence on special days, which only count as half a holiday
Absences, such as sickness or annual leave on a special day, should be be created as follows:
- Click on the tab Absences
- By clicking the blue button in the top left corner, you can create a new absence
- Existing entries can be amended by clicking on the entry in the calendar or via the link in the email notification
- The absence must not be for a full day, but rather be entered from 00:00 until 12:00
- On the right hand side, there will be a yellow warning note, stating that this absence falls on a special day
- On the right hand side, there will be a yellow warning note, stating that this absence falls on a special day
Hint: Should for example a holiday fall on a Wednesday/mid-week then the employee should create two separat absence requests, otherwise if they try to create only one absence request, they will receive an error message. This is as described above, if on that special day, no absence requests are granted.
